Scholars’ Domain of Information Space

چکیده

This article addresses Croatian scholars’ information behavior and how they use technology to acquire in three areas of their work: teaching, research, administrative activities. Our study aims find which communication channels scholars utilize share knowledge. Are using targeting a broader audience, i.e., formal–explicit communication, or those narrower one, informal–implicit communication? The questionnaire used included four questions regarding scholar activities, with nine possible channels, scored on seven-point Likert scale. Considering many for each area activity, reduction was made through Principal Component Analysis (PCA), determine latent components various channels. In finding teaching the main channel is informal implicit, while research it formal explicit. PCA shows distinction between social technical domains science terms collect material tasks. A further reduced two factors all questions, where first factor has second characteristics. work part larger aimed at determining mechanisms diffusion within academic institutions, utilizing Information space model.
